So Many Digital Cameras - How To Choose One?
Digital cameras can take videos or still photographs by capturing them through an electronic image sensor. Digital cameras display images on the screen immediately after they are recorded. Not are digital cameras good at capturing photos, they are good at storing them as well. The inbuilt memory of these phones can store thousands of images and some hours of videos. One can transfer these images and videos to a computer or can take their printouts.
Having mentioned the advantages of a digital camera, it is imperative to mention that the sheer number of camera-phone brands on the market make choosing a camera an arduous task. Here is some information that will help you in taking this decision.
Cost - It is the first thing that comes to the mind. Digital cameras used to be very expensive, but they are not anymore. If your budget is low, then you can buy a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera.
Mega Pixel - Thousands of little squares together makes a mega pixel. Every camera comes with different number of mega pixels specified as 5x, 6x, 10x or more. Higher mega pixel cameras are not necessarily better. If you take a shot with 10-MP camera; then you can get a high resolution picture but it will occupy more space. So before selecting mega pixel you should consider the storage capacity of that camera also.
If you just want standard prints of 4” X 6” or 5” X 7”, then a 5 or 6 MP camera will be fine.
Control over Camera Settings -There are many options to select from - automatic or manual and these include night mode, snow mode, burst, flash etc. If you are not sure of the camera settings, then you should choose automatic mode.
Optical and Digital Zoom - Optical zoom is the focal length which means how far your camera lens can stretch from its body. It allows you to get closer to the object without moving.
Digital zoom enlarges the camera pixels so that a picture can look bigger than its normal size.
To make the most of your investment, one should purchase a camera during the camera sale season.
